The command allows you to export a point cloud from a drawing to a PostgreSQL-based storage. At that, depending on whether you’re exporting a point cloud for the first time or exporting a point cloud previously loaded from the same storage (provided that the “Save connection with data” parameter is set to Yes during import), either a full export will occur (a new storage for the given point cloud will be created) or an incremental update of the cloud’s metadata will be performed in the storage. Thus, the link to the DBMS created during import from the storage allows you to save versions of the same point cloud in the database(without duplicating immutable data), creating a storage for processing stages.

Connection parameters for the command can be pre-configured using the connections panel, using the PC_STORAGE_CONFIG command, or requested directly in the command itself (in which case the connection used will be saved in the connections panel automatically).

The command parameters allow you to select a database (working with a previously saved connection is illustrated here), and it is also possible to use data compression when saving the point cloud to the database.

Accepting the parameters will immediately launch the import process, the progress of which will be displayed by a progress indicator in the status bar. Upon completion, diagnostic information about the export process will be displayed in the command history window:

After the cloud is saved to the database, if you select Enter Cloud Information in the parameters, the Cloud Information dialog box will appear, allowing you to fill in the Target and Description fields
