Point Clouds Unrestricted Section

Unrestricted section is performed by 3 points perpendicular to view plane. If there are several viewports in the model space, then it is necessary to specify in which viewport the section result will be displayed.

The first and second points determine the vertical plane of section with which the cloud will be cut. Moreover, the first point is determined that will be on the left side of the observer in the resulting view. The third point determines the depth of section.

To create an unrestricted section:

1.    Run the Unrestricted section command.

2.    Specify the first point of section. This point will be located to the left of observer.

3.    Specify the second point of vertical section. This point will be located to the right of observer.

4.    Specify the section’s depth.

5.    If there are several viewports in the model space, select the target viewport to display the section.
