Import Reference Points
The command imports groups of reference points from text files to the current document.
Ribbon: Point Clouds – Point Cloud > Importing Reference Points
Menu: Point Clouds – Registration > Importing Reference Points
Toolbar: Point Clouds 3DScan > Importing Reference Points
Command line: PC_REG_IMPORT_REFS
All reference points from one file are imported as a single set – a group of reference points. Group takes the name from the file name. For example, group from the “Scan1.txt” file is named “Scan1”. Ordinary, a group includes reference points that belong to the same point cloud.
The command opens a dialog to import reference points from a file. Select desired files and choose data format.
The following formats are supported for storing reference points:
XYZ – each text row contains three coordinates of a reference point.
XYZW - each text row contains three coordinates of a reference point and its weight – in the range from 0 to 1.
note: Corresponding reference points in different groups should have the same names. If imported file doesn’t contain reference point name, then it should be named manually before registration. This can be done manually in the Registration by reference points bar on the Reference Points tab or automatically with the Identify unnamed reference points.
NXYZ – name + coordinates of a reference point.
NXYZW – name + coordinates + weight of a reference point.
After import of reference points, the command line displays the number of created groups:
If specified extension differs from the real file content, then command line displays the message:
Use the Registration by reference points functional bar to edit and visualize referenced points.
